In today's healthcare environment, costs are steadily increasing, while reimbursements from Medicare, Medicaid and insurance are not. The gap between costs and reimbursements continues to increase, creating a growing need for community support.

Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy Medical began in 1949 as a convalescent home with the mission of continuing the healing ministry of Jesus by providing excellent and compassionate, holistic healthcare. Today, Mercy Medical depends on the generous support to remain faithful to its mission and its reputation for excellence and to meet ever-increasing healthcare needs. Donations and support of fundraising programs help Mercy to ensure that the same care the community has come to trust and rely on, will be here when it is most needed.

Fund-raising events including Mercy's Annual Valentine Luncheon and Annual Charity Golf Tournament, help Mercy to underwrite more than $1 million in non-reimbursed care each year.

This year's Mercy Medical Charity Golf Tournament benefits patient charity care and Guardian Angel, the fund-raising program for Mercy's pediatric home care. Mercy's Guardian Angel program supports the tremendous costs of providing pediatric home care services. More than 1,000 children and their families have be served since 1998.
