Recently Sonny Brewer, author, editor and bookstore proprietor, entertained the residents and staff members of Catherine Place with the debut of his latest book “Cormac, The Tale of a Dog Gone Missing.” The book recounts the adventures of Cormac, a four-year old Golden Retriever, that wanders off and winds up across the country while his owner and small-town community come together to find him. Brewer’s funny anecdotes and charming narratives captivated the audience. His love for his dog and imagination sparked many questions and other tales from residents. Brewer closed his presentation with a book signing.
Brewer is the editor of the stories from the Blue Moon Cafe series of anthologies, published each fall by MacAdam and Cage. He also authored “A Sound like Thunder” and “The Poet of Tolstoy Park” which is now in preproduction work for a movie adaptation. Brewer is also board chairman and founder of the non-profit Fairhope Center for the Writing Arts, and owner of Over the Transom Bookstore in Fairhope.
