Guardian Angel ornaments fund pediatric home care program
December 03, 2007

2007 Mercy Medical Guardian Angel ornament sales have begun in Baldwin and Mobile counties. Pictured with this year’s beautiful angel ornament are: Front Row (l to r) Mercy Medical volunteers, Debbie McManus and Kristin Phillips; Back Row (l to r) Mercy Medical Director of Development, Ange Baggett; and Diane Douglas, owner of In the Company of Angels.

This Christmas season you’ll enjoy knowing a guardian angel is watching over your holiday celebrations by your purchase of the 2007 Mercy Medical Guardian Angel ornament. Proceeds of the ornament sales benefit Mercy’s Guardian Angel program, supporting pediatric home care services.

Each beautifully-crafted ornament from the Serenity line by Seasons of Cannon Falls, is inscribed with Henry Beecher’s inspirational message, “Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” This beautifully packaged pewter angel will make a special gift to show your gratitude to teachers, friends and loved ones or as a keepsake for you to enjoy for years to come. The “Spiritual” Guardian Angel ornament is available for purchase for $16 each from the Mercy Medical Development Office, Wilhelm Administration Building, all other Mercy locations, and many area shops and businesses. For the fourth year, the Mercy ornament was selected by the Guardian Angel volunteer committee with assistance from Diane Douglas, owner of In the Company of Angels in Fairhope.
Mercy Medical is the only provider of a full range of pediatric home care services in both Mobile and Baldwin counties. This level of specialty care allows critically ill children to remain at home surrounded by their families and friends, as much as clinically possible. This is especially important for pediatric hospice patients. More than 850 children and their families have been served by Mercy since 1998.

Local businesses and Mercy facilities participating in the 2007 Guardian Angel ornament project this year include, Daphne: Better Homes and Bargains, Mercy Medical rehab hospital, Wilhelm Administration Building, Catherine Place, and the John McClure Snook Regional Center; Fairhope: Baldwin County Endodontics, Carroll Place, In the Company of Angels, The Lyon’s Share, Page & Palette, The Complete Skin Care Center, The Sanctuary Salon, Shoe Fly, The Hamlet and Uptown; Mobile locations: Ashland Gallery, Claude Moore Jeweler, Ivy Cottage, Laura Cantrell Photography, McAuley Place, Portier Place, The Bienville Club, The Complete Skin Care Center and Three Stitches; in Foley: The Looking Glass; and in Spanish Fort: The Complete Skin Care Center.
