Recently, Carroll Place, a Mercy Medical assisted living community, held its fifth annual Senior Prom. This year’s prom was themed Dancing with the Stars and the stars included residents, family and friends who came out to dance and enjoy the evening. Led by Donna Rothschild, the staff and volunteers transformed the dining room into an exquisite ballroom with dazzling hanging stars and a disco ball. Music performed by Side by Side, the duo of Helen and Dale BeVier, inspired memorable dancing. Professional dancers Shirley and Clarence Kossow entertained with special dances during intermissions. Delicious finger foods, cheeses, fruit, cookies, punch and wine were prepared by Katie Dubose, Carroll Place’s dietary manager and the staff. The staff wore black and white and bow ties. Everyone had the opportunity to capture the night by having their portrait photographed by professional photographer Charles Moorehead.
“The Carroll Place Senior Prom brings together family, friends, volunteers and staff for a fun and relaxing evening. The residents put on their “finest” and enjoy either dancing or watching the dancers. We are blessed to have loyal volunteers who enjoy dancing with our residents. Much planning and preparation goes into an evening like this.” explained Cecile Godfrey, Carroll Place Program Administrator.
