TerMac Construction, Inc. returns for a second year to present Mercy Medical's 26th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, September 27 at Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope. This year’s charity golf tournament solely benefits Guardian Angel, which provides home care to critically and terminally ill children of Baldwin and Mobile counties.

“No one should ever have to imagine their child being critically or terminally ill. But many of our neighbors, families or friends have faced this horrific situation. Having excellent medical care provided in their home has relieved some of the stress and suffering of Mercy’s pediatric families,” explained Donna Wilhelm, a member of this year’s golf committee and Mercy’s vice president of marketing and government relations.

Because no child is turned away at Mercy, and Medicaid and many insurances may cover less than 30% of a child’s medical costs, this year’s golf committee must raise much-needed funds for Guardian Angel to help ensure every child receives excellent healthcare in their homes. Since 1998, Mercy’s pediatric home care program has treated children with chronic illnesses including cystic fibrosis, leukemia, other cancers and diseases, or severe conditions resulting from a birth defect or injury.

“Mercy's tournament is one of the oldest and most popular charity golf tournaments in the area because it’s a great way to give back to our community while having a good time. And having TerMac return as our $10,000 presenting sponsor, absolutely leads the way in showing how committed our community is to a great cause,” stated Russ Wood, co-chair of this year’s golf committee.

Highlights of this year’s tournament include a silent auction with resort stays, weekend passes and signed memorabilia plus flighted teams and great prizes. Sponsorship packages offer great promotional opportunities for businesses in the form of pre- and post-event publicity, event banners, golf tee signage, and business logo promotions, as well as players in the tournament. Multi-level sponsor packages vary from a Platinum sponsorship at $3,500; to a Tee sponsor at $100.

Individual registration is $150 per player which includes lunch, greens fees, cart fees, range balls, a great player gift, food and beverages on the course, post-tournament refreshments, and the opportunity to win terrific prizes. The tournament format will be a four-person scramble with both morning and afternoon shotgun starts followed by a brief awards program. Online registration is available.
